Reflect on the explanations offered in Chapter 1 about why acquiring research and evaluation skills should be important to you. Stimulus questions to start you thinking: Did the chapter make a convincing argument? What caught your attention most? And what about the two articles you read? Did they show you how important it is to think critically and from an evidence-based practice perspective about some of the practices social workers employ? Can you now make a strong argument about why programs should be evaluated? And what might this all mean in terms of how you think about your own practice? Choose one or several of these stimulus questions and compose a reflection on this week’s readings in about 250 words. There are really no “right” or “wrong” answers or responses. One-inch margins, 12 point font.
Grading Guidelines
This assignment is worth 10 points. I will be looking for these things in your 250 words:
Thoughtful responses. (The opposite of “I liked the article.”) What did the readings stimulate you to think about? What would you like to know more about?
Some acknowledgment of new learning (if it occurred).
Length and good grammar.
NOTE***********
PLEASE USE CRITICAL THINKING AND NOT KEEP IT TOO BROAD. Also, you can make up anything that presents to be realistic and critical thinking. I am a male who is a social worker and live in a small town.
