Video: While watching this video, “Anti-Semitism, Hitler’s Rise to Power,” and answer the following questions:
How did the economic depression help the Nazi Party rise to power?
How did Hitler grab power after being appointed Chancellor?
Primary Source Interpretation: Read “Propaganda and Mass Meetings in Nazi Germany,” p. 729, or 25-1c and then answer the following, aiming for a paragraph-length response (5-7 sentences):
In Hitler’s view, what would mass meetings accomplish for his movement? How do mass rallies further the development of nationalism?
Analysis: Use your textbook, pp. 728-730, to answer the following in a paragraph-length (5-7 sentences) response:
How did Hitler create a Nazi total state? Why do you think that he was more successful than Mussolini?
Citation: You do not need to include citation from the videos – simply answer the questions. For the paragraph-length responses, cite the text as: (Textbook, p. 727 or Textbook, 25-1c). You should have citation in each paragraph. Note that whole essays could be spent on the paragraph responses. In order to limit yourself to a paragraph, focus on specific examples. That will help you parse the information.
