The INCIDENT: On the day of the incident, I was in my office working when Roja, Hall, and Morale walked into my office. Upon the Marines walking into the warehouse office, I notice Morale had a handcuff on his hands. Morale immediately started speaking to the other employee asking about a trick regarding removing the zip tie handcuff. At this moment, Roja asked all the employees to leave the office and ask me to stay. Once everyone left, Roja, started to express to Morale how unprofessional it is for him to be fooling about at work, when we have employees from another company trying to assist in cleaning up our account. Roja continues to express his disapproval of his behavior and how he is not setting the example of a Manager.
At this point, Morale started to become verbally belligerent and disrespectful to Roja and the officer. He told Roja he always feels singled out for not working when other employees are not reprimanded for their behavior. However, it was very difficult to take him seriously when he manage to handcuff himself on the day we had a representative from another company present to help with our failing account. Morale started to rise his voice at both Roja and the officer while throwing questions at them. I became frustrated at his tone and how he was being verbally disrespectful to his boss. He failed to take any personal responsibility for his actions as he continue to rise his voice at the office. I informed both Roja and the officer, while Morale was still in the office, that I didn’t like the way Morale was speaking to the officer. I recommended to them to just write him counseling and to continue to document his behavior. The correction turns into Morale basically taking control of the counseling by being verbally disrespectful and combative.
