The proper standard of care awareness, consciousness, warning, and judgment should exercise a reasonable person under the circumstances. If somebody does not satisfy the standard of care, he or she may be responsible to a third party for carelessness. Consumers who are considered vulnerable and underserved may face obstacles that make it challenging to get health coverage and essential health care services.
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) identifies underserved, vulnerable, and special needs populations as communities that comprise members of adolescent populations or people who have encountered health disparities. Latino populations, African American populations, Asian population, People with limited English proficiency, Young adults and postsecondary graduating undergraduates who do not possess coverage options by a parent’s plan, a student plan, or an employer plan, New mothers and women with children, people with disabilities, Medicaid-eligible customers who are not enrolled in coverage notwithstanding being eligible for Medicaid(HHS).
There are 57 million people that live in 5,864 designated primary care shortage areas in the United States. Through surveying, individuals in these urban and rural communities face a lack of primary care providers in four primary care specialties: general care provider or family practice, general internal medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics and gynecology(NCBI,2021).
Although primary care physicians compose only 37% of the physician workforce, they provide 56% of all physician office visits. Experts claim that the United States will face a severe shortage of primary care physicians in the proximate future, possibly decreasing further the access to primary care services for medically underserved people(NCBI,2021).
