In this assignment we want you to begin to draft your methodology chapter, beginning with the introduction to the topic and the statement of the problem. Refer often to the example given in Bloomberg and Volpe’s text, the advice from Leavy’s chapter 3 on designing a project, and the additional readings and
video provided in the required readings and resources. We highly suggest that you work from your declaration of research and the work you completed in LEAD 701, as well as referring frequently and often to the EdD Dissertation Content Guidelines. We have provided examples and support in the EdD Dissertation Content Guidelines that should help you construct this important opening section.
Describe your topic, referencing foundational sources to describe the topic (1-2 pages).
Describe the general and specific problem you wish to address within that topic, answering the following questions (1-2 pages):
What is the general problem (include at least one primary, peer-reviewed research citation in which the authors noted in the recommendations for future research that this problem is still significant and needs to be examined)?
What is the specific problem, and any connection to your context, or a context in which you’ve worked or observed (include at least two current primary, peer-reviewed research citations in which the authors noted in the recommendations for future research that this problem is significant and needs to be examined)?
Who does this problem affect, and how do you know this?
What is the significance of the problem to the success or failure of the organization; or, to the detriment of the people the problem affects?
Keep it brief, and be sure to use APA formatting, including a reference page.
You will receive feedback on this topic and problem statement, and we expect that you will incorporate that feedback into your subsequent assignments up to and including the week 6 methodology paper.
