Heading
Include a heading in the upper-left corner of your paper with the following information:
your name
the course, quarter, and year (e.g., DRAW101, Fall 2010)
your instructor’s name.

Insert a digital photo of the drawing into the Word document.
Introduction
Which collection or collections did you visit?
What is the title of the drawing, and why did you choose to write about it?
Describe
What is the name of the artist?
What is the media used?
List literal objects in the drawing.
What did you notice first when you looked at the work? Why?
Describe relevant colors, shapes, lines, and textures.
How does mark making function in the drawing?
What is the overall visual effect or mood of the work?
Analyze
How has the artist used color, shape, line, and texture?
Which of the elements listed above (color, shape, line, and texture) is most dominant, or seems to be the most important?
How has the artist used light in the work?
Interpret
Do you think there are things in the work that function as symbols, or represent other things?
What feelings do you have when looking at the artwork?
