Chapter 10 Evidence-based practice
As a professional nurse, have you been directly involved in any aspect of the nursing research process? If so, explain your role and responsibilities. If you have not had direct involvement in this process, discuss how you have used nursing research in your clinical practice (additional reading attached).
Chapter 11 Quality and Safety
Maintaining safety and quality of care is facilitated, in part, by the use of systems and processes that provide for a reporting culture and psychological safety. What has your experience been in your practice, and do you think that your facility supports and maintains this type of culture? How is this accomplished?
Chapter 12 – Political Advocate
Professional nursing organizations provide a collective voice for promoting nursing and quality health care. Yet there are professional nurses who do not belong to any kind of professional organization. Do you believe all nurses should be active members of a professional organization? Explain the pros and cons of belonging to an organization. Be sure to state whether you are currently a member of a nursing organization.
