Literary analysis papers are generally written in first person. Instead of writing: The story illustrated many examples symbolism. Write: The story illustrates many examples of symbolism.
Avoid sharing your process as in: I had to read this poem three times before I understood it. Instead you could write, The symbolism in the poem is revealed through imagery.
