Review the most current Corporate Social Responsibility Report (CSR) produced by Cisco.
Then find another current CSR report from a company of your choice.
1) Compare and contrast the major subjects and material covered in your chosen CSR report to that of Cisco. This should be a detailed analysis.
2) Are any of the major accounting firms offering CSR auditing or assurance services? If so, explain their services.
3) Determine what Sustainability Accounting is and how it differs, if it does, from CSR reporting.
4) In November 2018, the Sustainability Standards Board (SASB) released a set of 77 standards to be followed for Sustainability Accounting. Locate this release and after selecting a Sector and Industry of your choosing, report on the standards released. Include why the SASB felt it necessary to categorize standards.
5) Are a company’s CSR report or Sustainability Report required to be audited or have some kind of assurance? If so, explain the engagement. If not, determine whether, in your opinion, these reports should be auditing or have some kind of assurance service. Explain why.
6) Are there incentives for a company to report bad news as well as good news? Explain your reasoning.
