What is the organization’s mission and why is it important? How does the financial statements support mission achievement? As you reflect on your postings about the government wide and fund financial statements in prior weeks, consider how the entitity supports its mission with its investments, special projects, expenditures, revenue, net assets, etc.
Please note mission is often stated in the ACFR and or posted on their website. If you are unable to locate a mission statement, review the financial statements and assess mission based on your analysis of expenditures, capital assets, special projects, or other information found in the ACFR or your research.
A mission statement is required for your Project assignments including your power point presentation (5 pts.) and your paper (10pts).

A Mission statement is important for an organization because it defines the business, products or services, and customers, thereby defining the primary objective. It provides detailed information about what the organization does, how it does, and who it does it for.
1) State the mission of your government entity.
2) Based on your review of the financial statements, how is the mission being supported by the organization?
3) Identify briefly 5 reasons you believe the organization is working to achieve its mission based on your analysis of the financial statements. Document the 5 strongest reasons or explanations very briefly in your own words.
If you are unable to locate the mission of your organization from the ACFR or their website, you may infer the mission based on your review of the financial data.
