The job interview process is where decision-making and perceptual biases can often come into play. Consider your own interview when you took the job and describe:
- What may have been the influences of the length of the interview?
- What may have been the influence of the length of time it took for the interviewer to make the hiring decision on both the perception of the firm toward the individual and the individual toward the firm?
- What biases may have been involved in your own hire? Consider your own biases regarding the firm as well as theirs toward you.
- What can the company do to reduce the negative effects of bias in the job interview process?
This is to be in narrative form. Bullet points should not to be used. The paper should be at least 2 pages in length, Times New Roman 12-pt font, double-spaced, 1 inch margins and utilizing at least one outside scholarly or professional source related to organizational behavior. This does not mean blogs or websites. This source should be a published article in a scholarly journal. This source should provide substance and not just be mentioned briefly to fulfill this criteria. The textbook should also be utilized. Do not use quotes. Do not insert excess line spacing. APA formatting and citation should be used.
