What are you doing when you summarize a text? What is the difference between reading to believe and reading to doubt someone else’s argument? Why is it important to do both when evaluating someone’s argument?
2) Pages 73-86 (Your answers for this section should total at least 300 words.)
The first few pages of chapter 5 outline eight different types of evidence. Name four of them and point out a strength and a weakness of each of the four kinds. If you quote from the book, be sure to use quotation marks.

Explain briefly what “angle of vision” means. The book discusses different angles of vision regarding mosh pits. Identify something happening in the world today on which different people can have very different angles of vision and explain how they might differ in their views.
Write about three things that you learned from the section on strategies for framing evidence (pages 82-86) and explain how each one revealed something new to you.
