Topic Research Question:
Compared to elders with Alzheimer’s Disease who do not participate in therapeutic art and music interventions, are those who receive these services protected from Alzheimer’s related impairment?
*Library Research*
Utilizing Pubmed (watch the video tutorial again), search for a minimum of 10 articles that will help you to answer your research question. You must determine your search terms, i.e. the key words you’ll utilize to narrow your search. If it’s too narrow, you won’t find enough articles. If it’s too broad, you will find too many and they may not be directly applicable to your research. You practiced this for the first mini assignment.
Here are some tips:
1. Review the BOOLEAN search terms again
2. Watch the tutorials
3. Utilize Youtube to search for additional videos on how to utilize PubMed to find articles for a literature review
4. Select your search terms. They should be pulled directly from your research question, e.g. Hispanic (this is the word most commonly used, not Latino); hypertension; physical activity. These terms cover my population, health outcome, and the type of intervention I’m interested in researching.
5. Your minimum 10 articles must be in APA style and formatted as a refererence page. You should use Zotero to keep track of your citations. The articles cannot be random. You have to download them and read through them to make sure they apply to your intervention. You will be writing a literature review that answers your research question. General publications on the topic, e.g. hypertension, will not help you to answer your research question about the intervention and its effects on your population and the comparison group.
6. I must be able to tell the intervention type from the article. Please include your research question above the references. Here is how your paper should appear:
