The name of the paper is Beyond the Badge, released by the Pew Research Center in Jan. 2017. The report is lengthy, so I suggest you begin reading the report after spring break. I also suggest you take notes on what you read in order to prepare your reflection paper. Note ideas that come to mind as you read the report. A reflection paper is not merely a summary of what you are reading. Here are some ideas for your paper:
1. Analyze and evaluate what you read about those men and women behind the badge (police officers).
2. Reflect on the report’s connection to the current climate of policing in this country.
3. Give your ideas for improving policing and community trust.
4. Where, in policing, is there room for improvement, and what parts of the report made you feel that improvement is needed?
5. Reflect on any section of this report that was in direct opposition to what you assumed.
6. Reflect on any section of this report that you strongly agreed or disagreed with.
7. In your conclusion state if you believe this report would be helpful for all law enforcement officers to read.

Your paper should be 5-10 pages of content. Include a title page and a reference page. These pages are separate and in addition to the content pages.
