~ GO PUBLIC Inspired Research Topic Report~
This semester we have explored the evolution of the principles and practices of contemporary education. One of the most important issues we have investigated is the achievement gap, that exists in our country among the students in our school system, and the reform efforts made towards closing this gap. Many research studies have investigated different aspects of the teaching and learning process that have resulted in positive student outcomes.
In this assignment you will write a report in which you describe your GO PUBLIC documentary inspired research topic and the findings of the research studies you discovered that may contribute to the knowledge base of best practices that promote the academic success of all children. Your report must be at least 5 pages and include the following components:
Title Page – See example of title page provided in the sample final APA paper located in the Writing Intensive Support Materials tab in our Blackboard course menu.
Abstract – The abstract is a brief description of the contents of your report. See example provided.
Introduction- This section will begin with a description of your research topic. Describe the research question you have investigated in this paper and describe how to your research topic
Research Article Summary (also known as Literature Synthesis)- In this section of your report you will combine the summaries of your research article findings, from at least 3 articles.
Observational Data from GO PUBLIC Documentary Notes- In this section of your report you will connect the information you found in your research articles to the evidence you found observing the GO PUBLIC documentary. Describe how the documentary either provided additional information to support or refuted the research findings described in your literature synthesis (research article summaries).
Conclusion and Need for Future Research – In this section you will restate the general research topic and specific research question you investigated. Describe how the research findings may promote student success and contribute to reform efforts to close the achievement gap in our country.
References – Your references will include the research articles you have cited in APA format.
