In this assignment, you will create a 2-year professional career development plan in which you discuss your goals and plans for achieving them. Include your short- and long-term objectives and goals. Evaluate your present position in relation to these goals by listing your current experience and skills. Identify your strengths and weaknesses and those areas that need further development. Prepare a plan of action to achieve your goals.

My Short term goals:

Ex: get hired at hospital pediatrics Dept. Get my bachelors, buy a house,
personal info: I’m 22 and decided to go to a private college to finish school faster and start working. I’ve always wanted to be a nurse peds specifically
Present position: I am currently a full time student with no job and means to support myself financially. Within the next 5 years I want to be fully financially responsible for myself.
Although I never worked in the medical field I believe I have the skill set and determination that are usually found in string nurses. If I would have to speak on something I need work on is allowing/asking for help.
Weaknesses: With being online during clinical practice time I have lacked hands on experience and only have practiced each skill set (IV, Foley’s) once for a few hours in a medical doll provided by the school.
Plan of action to achieve goal: Get some volunteer hours during my time studying for my NCLEX in hopes of getting more experience before starting at a hospital
