Health History This paper is regarding a the Health History a Nurse Practitioner should use to gather information, and assess a new patient. A Health history provides the Nurse Practitioner a background on the patient, covering everything from their current health conditions, their parents, their environment, spirituality, occupation, everything that will provide the Nurse Practitioner with a well round view of the patient, so they may provide the appropriate care, and teachings for the patient.
This paper MUST include the following:
o Provide an overview of interviewing techniques for the Nurse Practitioner to use when obtaining a Health History from a new patient. o Construct relevant health history questions for all body systems as included on the review of systems (ROS). o Provide the expected normal subjective findings for each body systems on the ROS.
o Advanced interview techniques.
o Analyze and discuss how you might adapt your interviewing techniques to accommodate each of the following specific populations:
1. Infant/pediatric
2. Pregnancy
3. Geriatric o Identify one disease process or condition that may significantly hinder conducting a Health History interview. o Synthesis and discuss the expected abnormal physical examination findings that may be associated with this disease or disease process.
