This discussion will focus on the community where you, your older adult clients, your parents, grandparents, or other older adults you are concerned about live.
Think about the readings in books, journals, and online and then choose one thing that you feel is needed for these older people. Find a resource that meets this need in your community. You might start on the Internet, but you may need to make some phone calls or use other contacts you have. Include the following in your post:
Name and describe the community, including information about the demographics of that town or city. (20 points)
Describe the need you are trying to fill. For example, you might know several people who can’t afford to buy adaptive equipment or people who need fall prevention education. (20 points)
Provide the information about the resource you found that meets this need, including the contact information. Insert a web link to the resource, if possible.
Describe what this place or organization does, its cost, and to whom it is available. (20 points)
How hard was it to find this information? Do you think a typical older adult could find this information? Why or why not? (20 points)
