I have chosen Medical Technology to research the topic of smartphone-connected pacemaker
devices. The reason that I chose to research this topic is because I have always been curious
about pacemakers. I have had many patients over the years that I have worked with one on one
and only a handful of them had pacemakers. My great-grandfather had a pacemaker that I
would call his plastic ticker and I did not fully understand what it was about but that it was
important and it kept his heart going. What I want to discover through researching smartphoneconnected pacemakers is when and how they were engineered and what the future looks like
for them because we are all connected through technology and I believe that this is an upscale
transition.
