Task 4 – Responding to Interpersonal Challenges
In approximately 300 words identify:
3 interpersonal challenges that might occur in your particular placement setting (e.g. school) NOTE: for my placement training I’m doing now in school for support of children have disabilities.
a strategy you could employ to help you manage each challenge (include some of the strategies discussed and researched in the Interpersonal Communication workshop)
at least 2 interpersonal skills you feel you need to develop to help you manage the interpersonal aspects of workplace settings, and what you could do in order to develop these skills.

Poor communication: a strategy I could use is listening closely to what is required of me for my next part of my placement that could include writing the things down
Misunderstanding with client information: a strategy i can use is somewhat similar to the point above and that is writing the client information down so when it comes to explaining the information it is precises
Lack of involvement: a strategy i could use speaking up to my supervisor about what learning experiences i want to get out of this placement

One interpersonal skill I need to develop is active listening. When so much is happening and a lot of information has to be processed it can be overwhelming so if i actively listen it’ll be easier to process what has just been said. For this to be developed I will have to block out background noise and other distractions and focus on the person talking
Another skill I need to develop is responsibility, especially being in an environment which requires me to understand and explain the task correctly at hand. For this to be developed i will be proactive and ask for clarification if i need to and study what has been given
