Personal Health Interest Reflection Paper
Health education and promotion typically come from professionals (i.e., health education specialists) who are passionate about what they do and the potential impact they could make on someone’s life. During this course, you will be asked to select a health topic and plan a program for it. But before you begin this journey, you need to describe what you are passionate about.
Purpose: One of the many Health Educator’s responsibilities involves program planning, implementation, and evaluation; and as such, need to be well versed in the process. “Planning an effective program is more difficult than implementing it”. (McKenzie, Neiger, & Thackeray, 2017, p. 10). Individuals who are experienced in planning health promotion programs are an asset to the organization where they will work, and the community they will serve.
Content/Subject: Your paper will present a summary of 1-3 health topics you find interesting and why. Also, describe what you hope to achieve in this course and how it might help you in the future. This reflection paper will be the only paper that you will write in first person and for which source notes are not required.
Specific Guidelines:
Title Page: APA Student Title Page
Introduction: includes a problem statement with a hook, transitional sentence, and a thesis statement.
Topic: 1 (up to 3) health topic(s) you are interested in developing into your program proposal
Personal Connection: describe why the (each) topic is of personal interest
Future Goals: Insight about what you hope to learn and how it will help you in the future
Summary Statement: 1-2 Sentences which restate the thesis statement in a new way to reinforce the main idea
APA Mechanics: no errors in punctuation, sentence structure and spelling
This is what I have so far:
-The following are some of the health topics that I am interested in:
1 – Workout.
The process of physical activity assists us in improving our health and staying fit and fine.
As an example, walking, Jogging, swimming, biking.
2.Nutrition is number two on the list.
The process of supplying food that is required for our health and growth.
As an example, proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals.
They are intriguing to me because no discussion of health can begin without addressing these two issues.
Personal interest for me to take nutrition topic: –
A healthy diet promotes healthy pregnancy outcomes, supports normal growth, development, and ageing, aids in body weight maintenance, and lowers the risk of chronic disease, all of which contribute to overall health and well-being.
Interest in nutrition topic: –

Help our body manage blood sugar and insulin levels. …
Help to quit smoking. …
Improve mental health and mood. …
Help keep our thinking, learning, and judgment skills sharp as our age.
I hope to learn a lot from this course so that I can promote health education to people who need to know the most about health and the benefits of living a healthy life.
