Write an ARGUMENT synthesis essay based on any research reading, and base it on your explanatory essay. Please be sure to maintain the basic requirements for the assignment. This paper should be about twice as long as Essay 1, typed and double-spaced. The paper should include at least SIX sources from what we have read so far, and TWO sources from outside the class for a total of eight (8) sources minimum. You must also submit an outline, the essay, and a works cited page. I will not accept your assignment without all three. You must also have submitted Essay 1 to complete this assignment.
Your topic will be whatever you raised awareness about for Essay 1, or a research topic that I previously approved. I strongly urge you not to change your topic. I guarantee that you will struggle if you do. You must submit an appropriate outline detailing the approach you will be taking with the topic, in addition to a Works Cited page. The best way to complete this assignment is to simply add some spaces between your paragraphs from your first revised essay, and add transitional sentences at the end that lead into new paragraphs where you will present thoroughly researched arguments with appropriate rationale. Evaluate the elements of your topic within the readings from the syllabus. You should have successfully read all of this already, and know all about them, and if your topic works or not. Consider the following questions to guide your arguments:
In your essay, what is the importance of your topic in the real world?
How does one identify with your topic?
How does your topic apply in other countries?
How do other countries perceive your topic in our country?
Remember to research how people generally feel about your topic. Also, do not limit yourself to only answering the questions I pose here, consider other perspectives to reveal and synthesize what you think is most obvious about each text you select, especially if you think they improve your ability to convey your ideas in your assignment. If you wish to include your experience, save it for the conclusion, and try not to digress.
Your paper should be typed, double-spaced, 12-pt. Times New Roman font, with 1-inch margins all around. In your essay, you should use evidence from a total of EIGHT sources minimum with the following conditions: you must use at least SIX of the assigned readings from these units, and at least TWO outside sources from your own research.

In your essay, write a clearly focused, yet debatable, thesis statement (central claim) that directly addresses the assignment. Take a firm stance on what you believe is most important with respect to your topic. Also, be sure to provide sufficient reasons and evidence to support your thesis, and do not forget to consider major opposing arguments. Wherever appropriate, make use of one or more rhetorical strategies (ethos, pathos, logos). When revising, check to see that you have used your sources effectively, and correctly according to MLA guidelines.
