identify and analyze the major issues, debates, and/or concerns as it relates to relevant course materials.

July 30, 2021
Christopher R. Teeple

Objective: This reflection is a critical analysis based on the readings. In short, students are to critically reflect on the course materials in order to identify the relevant issues of human and civil rights and the role of law, politics, and justice.
Students are asked to identify and analyze the major issues, debates, and/or concerns as it relates to relevant course materials. Students must develop a clear and concise argument illustrating what they have learned.
The course readings and discussion should provide you with all the material necessary to think through and engage. Outside resources are not required.
Analytic papers will be graded for your critical engagement, your use of the course material, your application of concepts, theories, and data from the readings, and your
clarity of thought. It is expected that your approach will become cumulative over the course of the term, and that you will be able to reference earlier materials from the course as, or if, these are useful to your analysis. There are no specific, or right, answers to the questions, and descriptive answers will receive a low grade. Instead, thoughtful integration of relevant information, concepts, and/or insights drawn from the course material is expected.
Tips: Ask yourself how the readings have enhanced your understanding of a concept, issue, debate. How does the readings confirm your understanding or challenge your understandings of human rights? Did the readings identify strengths or gaps in your understanding of liberties, rights, and protections?
Length 5-7 PAGES, excluding title page/bibliography. Double Space. APA referencing. Times Romans, Default margins, 12 Font. Bibliography included. Min 2-3 sources.
This is not a descriptive analysis or summary of the readings, rather students must develop a thesis statement in thinking about the subject matter as it relates to the course materials to date.
