This week you will complete the Framework section of the Prospectus Form. For the Framework section, list any theories and/or concepts relevant to your topic and research variables to be studied. Students can access a list of possible DHA theories on the DHA Program Prospectus Support page. This theoretical or conceptual framework is the basis for understanding, designing, and analyzing ways to investigate your research problem (data collection and analysis). It must be aligned to the framework with the problem, purpose, research questions, and background of your study.
This week you will complete and/or update the following Prospectus Form sections:
1. Framework (Theoretical and Conceptual)
a. Single sentence that explain the theory being selected to ground your research.
b. One-two sentences that explain the connection between the framework and your study variables.
2. Supporting Literature
a. Return to the Supporting Literature section to add references supporting the framework.
Provide the original scholarly literature (citing original authors) on the theory and/or concepts, even if it is more than 5 years old. Please do not cite secondary sources.
Explain how these theories and/or concepts relate to your research problem, purpose, and the nature of your study. Your topic/approach should align with the identified framework so that you will either build upon or counter the previously published findings on the topic.
The framework chosen is Phenomenology.
Conceptual framework
The research aims to compare the negative effects of the Covid 19 on nurse leaders and healthcare workers. The study’s conceptual framework is Phenomenology, which is the useful practice of determining and understanding the nature of human beings. Van Manen defined the concept, and it allows the research to be done most sensitively and decisively, especially in nursing. The phenomenological method is applied in health care facilities to address the problem that nurses face and assist in searching for a successive solution (Van, 2017). The van Manen approach is interesting because it provides the knowledge and understanding of the discipline of health care practices; it gives an exclusive kind of knowledge that enable the medical practitioners to reflect on their manner.
The van Manen approach of Phenomenology is important and relevant in the research because it helps understand the negative influence of the Covid 19 on the nurse’s burnout.Phenomenology helps check the perception, emotional thoughts, imagination, and memory of the nurses and how it affected them in their work (Errasti et al., 2019). The approach is essential in the research because it guides in determining the phenomena of the nurses in the facility and the solution of solving the problem.
The Phenomenology approach is beneficial in the reflection of the lived experience of working post-pandemic. Many of the nurses during the pandemic are influence negatively, and they end up living their jobs because of the pressure (Iheduru, 2021). Life after the pandemic will be difficult because most of the nurses are out of their work. Most health workers lost trust in the management of the health care facilities because they did not receive any motivation during the pandemic.
