Argumentative Paper Introduction Paragraph
Due Tuesday by 11:59pm Points 10 Submitting a file upload Available after Jun 21 at 8am
Think about your first interactions with the people in your life. Do these first impressions still shape your perception of these people today? Many of them probably do, because your first impression of a person really influences how you view and think about that particular individual. The same is also true for essays/papers. Your introduction is your tool for capturing the audience’s attention and leaving them with a lasting impression. Introductions are important because they provide a first impression, establish credibility with your audience, and prepare the audience for the paper’s content.
Introduction Paragraph
Each RESP 4206 student will be required to build an ethics-topic argumentative paper relative to respiratory therapists in the healthcare setting. The goal is for the student to explore a major ethical/legal issue confronting the practice of respiratory therapy. Students are expected to investigate a controversial ethical/legal topic; collect, generate, & evaluate evidence; and establish a position (pro or con) on the topic in a concise manner. Students are expected to use knowledge learned in the course as well as additional resources to complete the 4 various final paper written assignments as well as the final ethics-topic argumentative paper due at the end of the semester. The final ethics-topic argumentative paper should include a title page, introduction paragraph, body paragraphs (3-5 pages), conclusion paragraph, and references page. The final paper (minimum of 2500 words) should be 12-point font and double-spaced with traditional 1-inch margins. A references page of at least three references, two of which must be original research articles from peer-reviewed journals should be included. Papers should utilize APA format. Please upload your introduction paragraph as part of the first assignment for the development of your ethics-topic argumentative paper. You will submit your assignment through Turnitin SimCheck. This software is used to check the originality of the student’s paper. Throughout the semester, you should improve upon your introduction paragraph based on the feedback provided by the instructor and submit a finalized introduction paragraph as part of your ethics-topic argumentative paper at the end of the course. This assignment should be completed by 7/6/21 at 23:59 pm to gain a maximum of 4% towards your final grade. This deadline is for the introduction paragraph only
