(300 words) 10 per cent of TMA 03 mark Task 1: Write an essay plan for the essay

April 5, 2024

(300 words) 10 per cent of TMA 03 mark
Task 1: Write an essay plan for the essay you will write in Part 2. The plan should show the key points you will make in your essay. Each point should be supported by key module sources (with references) to illustrate your arguments.
(300 words) 10 per cent of TMA 03 mark
~TASK 2 Essay
You will find relevant content for this essay in Chapter 8 Models of disability and their effects on children’s lives, Unit 8 Children’s lives and models of disability, Block 3 Introduction and Block 3 Consolidation. You may use materials from elsewhere in the module, if you can make a link to the question.
Writing style: As Part 2 of TMA 03 is a formal academic writing task, you should use an objective writing style and adopt the third-person approach rather than the first person (‘I’). Guidance on these aspects of academic writing styles can be found on the OU Help Centre page, Using an appropriate writing style.
Structuring your essay: Follow the guidance that has been provided in the Block 3 Consolidation unit. You can also refer to the guidance on structuring essays, including using introductions and conclusions, that can be found in the OU Help Centre page, Essays.
Engaging with module materials: You must show your understanding of module materials on E104. This is achieved by integrating key ideas from the module reader and online materials into your writing, using your own words, and then by referencing the source of these ideas. Please note that this module does not require you to use external sources, but should you do so, you must also write in your own words and reference these sources. The question clearly asks for evidence from the module materials so any other material must be in addition to, not instead of, using the module materials.
Referencing the sources of the ideas you present: As the module progresses, you will be expected to reference clearly and accurately. It is important you address any feedback on referencing you have received from your tutor. Referencing was taught throughout the module and a summary of how to reference can be found in the Assessment Guide.
