1,500-word Essay
Chose the topic:
1. Media as Driving Force in International Politics. Provide empirical examples and support the argument with some theoretical knowledge. Focus on the representation of the conflict in Ukraine. Use English language sources and consult the other languages that you are knowledgable of. Comparatively analyse. If you do not have knowledge of other languages, use English language sources of non-western nations. Comparatively analyse.
2. Write a strategy for nation-branding of your own country. Use other cases, not necessary from your own country, to support your plan. Reference leading experts in the field and successful nation-branding campaigns.
3. Film and Politics: Tools for a Change or Means to Entertain. Create your own sub-topic based on empirical research. Apply your theoretical understanding from the field of study and write a strong argument to support the hypothesis. Give it a good title.
The length of the essay should be around 1,500. You will choose one of the topics on offer. The structured essay should inform of the intentions in the introductory part. A research question and the working hypothesis at this stage are useful for your later work in the main body of the essay. You should gradually present the case and develop the argument in the main part of the essay. The concluding part should summarise the answers to the questions raised in the introduction. The end of the essay is marked by the bibliography. The title page is advisable. All technical issues should be addressed to technical people. Marking Criteria

In your essay, you will have to show creative and entrepreneurial thinking by consistently demonstrating the ability to combine or synthesize existing ideas and knowledge in original ways and apply in the paper.

You should show your global awareness by consistently demonstrating a worldview (or perspective) that is informed, open-minded, and responsible; always attentive to diversity across the spectrum, with understanding of how actions affect both local and global communities.

In your essay, you should be adept at understanding how messages are sent and meaning conveyed through a variety of forms, depending on the purpose intended, and able to consistently and successfully apply these.
6.
The essay should show your proficiency in applying analyses and knowledge from multiple perspectives to a core issue, problem or experience to form an integrated perspective.
