Why did you pick this HLP? I chose this topic
because I believe it takes a “village to raise a child”. Far to often parents assume blame to their
child’s teacher for their child failing grades, test scores, or not being on
grade level. When the parent is not involved in their child’s education. I also
want to assist parents with outside school resources for example speech,
occupational therapy, and physical therapy. Its great that schools offer these
services, but additional time is needed outside of school.

What are your anticipated learning
outcomes/objectives? In other words, what are you hoping to gain in your
learning and application of the selected HLPs? I want to learn ways that will
encourage parents to be involved in their child’s education. Especially for the
younger parents who are more of a friend to their child than a parent.
4.
What ideas do you have for the practical
application portion of the final project? (This part may change throughout the
quarter as you develop the topic and materials). Monthly meeting with parents via zoom, in
person, or telephone. Homework assignments will require an adult signature to ensure the parent assisted the
student.
