1) Paste your organization’s mission statement at the beginning of the paper.
2) Create a 4-paragraph story that incorporates the elements and best practices of storytelling found in your readings. Focus on telling the story of your nonprofit or the people you serve. The five parts of a story in the infographic must be present in this section (1. There are problems in this world. 2. These problems can be… etc.). As it says on the infographic below, “Show the story, do not just tell” – I recommend adding a source that sustains the problem that your nonprofit is trying to solve. Note that if the story is personal, refer to yourself in the third person (e.g., “the founder”, “John Smith”, etc.) – as this section is not your biography, but the story of your nonprofit (and how it started). Remember to use we/us/our when writing from your nonprofit’s perspective across the assignment.
3) Create a basic Facebook or Instagram page for your nonprofit with at least 3 posts related to promoting your nonprofit. Provide screenshots of your Facebook or Instagram profile page and each post. If you are uncomfortable creating a FB and Instagram page (e.g., for privacy reasons), please visualize what you want your nonprofit’s profile/Bio page to look like on Powerpoint, and add screenshots of the profile page and the 3 posts. Note that each post must include both a picture and a description text. This is what the instagram screenshots would look like
4) Identify three organizations or entities (must be three different types of organizations – i.e. – you cannot include three different churches or three different civic organizations) in the area your nonprofit will serve that you could make a presentation to with the goal of getting them to support your organization. For each organization, tell why you chose them and why/how you think there is alignment between what they do (their mission) and yours. Why would those organizations be willing to help you? Include a couple of sentences for each.
5) Provide an idea for an event your nonprofit will conduct to promote your organization and why you think that event/event type is an appropriate way to promote your organization. This should be a maximum of a 3-4 sentence paragraph or 3-4 bullet points.
6) Add any sources you used in APA citation format.
As always, be sure that in your submission the four sections are clearly labeled (with titles and sub-headings) and the information is well organized and presented in a manner that makes it easy for your instructor to see that you have responded to everything required in the assignment.
