The
goal of this assignment is to allow you the opportunity to focus in greater
depth on how members of a specific group might experience a specific life
course stage. Choose a particular course of life stage, such as infancy, early
childhood, middle childhood, adolescence, young adulthood, middle adulthood,
late adulthood, or very late adulthood.

In addition, choose a group from a demographic category (i.e.,
race, ethnicity, social class, gender, sexual orientation, etc., or some
combination of categories such as Asian-American lesbians)

·
It may be a group that must cope with a particular challenge
(i.e., developmental disabilities, serious mental illness, mobility
disabilities, heart disease or addictions).

Review
recent literature about the biopsychosocial-spiritual experiences of the
specific group with the tasks of a particular stage of life.
RUBRIC
comprehension of subject: discuss important data/facts as they relate to an understanding of the impact of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and class on the life span development. accurately provide the issue and provide a well-developed summary.
engage: recognize and communicate an understamding of HSBE theories. Discuss impact on engagement with indidvudals, families, groups, and organizations. clearly distinguish between facts and opinion.
assess: articualte an understanding of HSBE and multi-disciplinary theories(minimum of t3) used to inforn SWK engagement and practice with individuals, families, groups, and organizations.
intervention: identify appropriate models of intervention with persons, families, groups, organizations, and communities at risk with implications and provide a well-developed explanation.
evaluaute practice/reflection: accurately identifies conclusions, implications, and consequences with well-developed explanations. provide an objective reflection of ones’s assertions on human behavior.
You will
review recent literature (at least five references) about your chosen
topic. The references must be based on
information from professional social work literature. At least one reference must also reflect an international
perspective.
