“Observe” watch the videos and pictures provided by instructor and the VVC Lab school Handbook (all located in Preschool Observation Paper)
While “observing” take notes regarding signs of equality and anti-bias education in areas such as: lesson plans/curriculum, environment (pictures, posters), literature, interactions between teachers, staff, and children (both physical and verbal), and planned experiences (food experiences, parties, field trips, etc.). Due to pandemic most will be based on the classroom environment and Parent Handbook
Complete the Checklist for Assessing the Visual Material Environment located on pages 161-162 of the Anti-Bias Education text. MUST INCLUDED THE CHECKLIST COMPLETED due to Pandemic can be written out and/or take a picture of the checklist- I have provided the Checklist at the bottom of the Preschool Classroom Observation Module
Write a reflection paper detailing things that how your program addressed the 4 areas of diversity you chose to focus on, what the program you observed did well, and what they could do differently to promote anti-bias education and diversity. The Focus of the Assignment is NOT your observation but addressing the 4 areas of diversity (you pick which 4), address the positives of these 4 areas of diversity that you “observe” at the preschool with specific examples, address the areas of improvement that this preschool can do to improve on these 4 areas of diversity (what would you do in your classroom) and completing/turning in your notes and checklist.Please follow the Written Paper Format:1. Introduction- (5 Points)A.
